This spectacular photo was taken by teammate Charlie Mace in 1992. As Ed delicately traverses tenuous ground below the infamous ice cliff at the top of K2's bottleneck couloir. Scott Fisher patiently waits behind to take his turn. Several hours later the three of them reached the 28,250' summit of K2, the world's second-highest peak. Personally signed by Ed.
